Why organic traffic? Let’s face it, if you are building an online MLM business and/or an affiliate marketing business you are going to need traffic, and any traffic is good traffic. But what traffic is better organic traffic or paid traffic. Even though I am the one posing the question
I’m not quite sure it’s a fair one. It really is going to depend on you, where your business is at, and what your overall marketing strategy and budget are. For the sake of this article, and because it is my reference, organic traffic will be the focus.
What Is Organic Traffic?
Organic traffic is typically traffic that comes from search engines. Whenever a query is made a search engine produces results. Usually the main results are organic results and then there are often highlighted results that are paid or promoted ads. Organic traffic comes from getting your content to show up when someone is searching for the information you are providing.
In My Opinion Organic Traffic Is The Way to Go When Starting Out
Most people have a limited marketing budget when starting out. PPC can get very expensive very fast, and results are not guaranteed. So, unless you are being mentored by a PPC expert (something I am not) then I suggest getting organic traffic through good SEO results. Now I know organic traffic is always referred to as free traffic, but there are some expenses involved. To rank on the front page of Google, or get organic traffic through searches in places like YouTube, your content will need some help. This help comes from using SEO tools which do cost money. That said, these are fixed expenses, so the more content you produce the better your return on investment is likely to be.
Why Organic Traffic is The Gift that Keeps On Giving
This is my favorite part. Say you have a PPC campaign going and for every $10 you spend on clicks you generate $20. Well it is quite clear that you need to spend $20 to generate $40. But $20 is all you generated on the first campaign and you have a limited budget and other expenses to cover. OK now think about this. Going after organic traffic you rank on the front page of google for a highly targeted keyword that is searched 700 times a month. Say the cost to rank was $10 (the same as your initial PPC investment) and that article or video generates the same $20 dollars. The beauty of organic traffic is that that piece of content will generate $20 for you month after month for as long as it ranks. Now don’t take these numbers to heart they are just to exhibit my point. The bottom line is there is residual value there and that is the beauty of focusing on organic traffic.
