In the last couple of days I have had some really telling conversations with prospects and team members. While the title of this post would imply it is about cost, money, dollars, expenses….I assure you what we are about to discuss is more about mindset then it is about money. We are going to discuss a major problem out there. Part of the problem lies within the industry, many people make fast money pitching magic business building solutions for one easy payment. But more to blame is the consumer, trying to buy their way to success as if there is a way to miraculously bypass hard work. There Isn’t.
How Much Will All This Cost?
Majority of people I speak with that are looking to build a network marketing business online are concerned with cost at some point or another. It’s only natural. But a couple of days ago I had a conversation that really got me thinking. This person was so concerned with every penny, I finally said “I think you need to be honest with yourself”….. “about what” he replied…. “you haven’t decided if you want to build this business”…..he sat silent. It was true.
The fact is, everyone lacks the time and/or money they desire if they are starting an MLM business. But how they discuss it says a lot about whether they believe they will succeed or not. A person can spend $99 on an SEO tool and spend three hours learning how to use it, or a person can invest $99 and 3 hours into their business. The language implies two entirely different things. People who are overly sensitive about spending money on their business subconsciously believe that the money is being wasted. People who carefully invest money in their business believe they will get a return on their investment.
Make Sacrifices So That You Can Invest In Your Business
I’m sure there are still some people reading this thinking not me…..I really want to build this business online, but just don’t have the money to do it. If you really desire to make it happen, and you still feel that money is holding you back figure out what sacrifices you can make. Can you skip the morning Starbucks, eat out less, change you phone plan….whatever? I do not know anyone who is perfectly efficient with their spending habits…..everyone can make adjustments. I for instance was so broke when I started my business that I shut my TV off, changed my phone plan, and made many other spending adjustments that saved me both time and money. In other words I skimped on my life not on my business.
It Isn’t an Investment If You Don’t Take Action
Do not spend another dollar on your business….I repeat, not another dollar, until you are going to take massive action. That’s right, the best system, tools, training, whatever, are virtually useless if you don’t apply them relentlessly. Commit to success, commit to action, commit to your business, and where and when you need to invest money will become increasingly clear.
